The site is located in Charlton, southeast London, within the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The site is located in a reasonably quality mixed commercial and residential area, where all the amenities are readily available including Charlton railway station which is located to the north of the site. 
The project was given planning permission under the Royal Borough of Greenwich for "The construction of a new partial 2nd floor and 3 storeys plus basement rear extension including the conversion of upper and rear parts to form 8 self-contained flats together with the installation of new shop fronts."
The work on the site started in June 2019 and is currently in the final stages of completion.
